agnesd Posted March 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2010 Are there any Rome hotels that provide a shuttle service from the airport? I would think this is less expensive than a private car. What about a taxi to Rome? Would that be reliable?
Rare cruisemom42 Posted March 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2010 If you want to stay in central Rome (which I suggest you do), I don't believe any hotels offer a shuttle. Taxis are reliable. You can either book one in advance at a slightly higher cost (several are recommended frequently here) or you can get one at the airport -- there is a flat fare to any point in the "centro storico" area (historic center) of 40 euro. There is an express train from the airport to Rome's Termini train station (12 or 13 euro per person). Unless you are staying relatively close to Termini, however, you will still likely need a taxi to get to the hotel itself.
