LambAround Posted March 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2010 I'm considering booking the 4/24/10 sailing on the Costa Atlantica, which goes from Quebec City to New York. I love the itinerary but worry that we will be FREEZING the entire 11 days! Checking the weather forecasts, it doesn't look like it will be warmer than 50F at any stop (50F if we're lucky!) I've never been to any of the destinations. I really want to take this cruise! Would you recommend waiting or do you think it will be fun, despite the cold? Thanks everyone! :) Past Cruises Are On My Blog: LambAround
trophy_23 Posted March 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2010 It will most likely be a bit cool but I wouldn't let that stop you. We went late last fall and it was cool some days but great others. Either way the itinerary is wonderful, go for it!!
Jan_In_Maine Posted March 29, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2010 We are always in Bar Harbor in April .... in case your cruise stops there, you need to know that alot of the stores/restaurants are closed until May. Jan
Mego0427 Posted April 5, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2010 It will probably be cold but it could be very warm. It was 80 in Maine yesterday for example. It could also be colder then 50, we could still conceivably get snow, it has happened before. I am planning a June wedding and planning for cold temps and warm ones you just never know around here. Jan_In_Maine Posted April 5, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2010 The 80 in Maine yesterday was a record (It was actually 78 in Bangor) ... normally there would be left over snow. The last time that it was as warm was back in 1973. (in my area of Maine anyway). Jan
SailBadtheSinner Posted April 5, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2010 LambAroud asked: Canada/New England in APRIL. Too Cold? So I'm asking LambAround, to cold for what? laying around the outside pool in your bikini/speedo , yes. too cold. The last few days in the interior of CT. the temperature has been in high 70's to low 80's off morning lows in the 50's. New England is not as cold as you have been led to believe.
