friedshrimp Posted March 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2010 Just got upgraded from G to DD cabin. Anyone resided in E105 on the Emerald? If so, how was the cabin and any major movement (I usually stay in the middle of the ship because of less movement there). Any info or better yet, pics, would be greatly appreciated. teambuxmann06 Posted March 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2010 I am wondering the same thing! We were upgraded to E109 from G as well. I got a little worried when I saw the cabin was on the front of the ship. Looking forward to everyone's responses!
Desert Cruisers Posted March 31, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2010 E109 and E105 look out at the Upper Promenade deck. They also have the fold-up upper berths that stick out from the walls.
sing2sas Posted March 31, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2010 We received the same "upgrade" on the Sapphire, to cabins E104 and E109. Is there a door at the end of the hall to get outside to the upper Promenade deck, or do you have to go down one floor and then up to get to the space outside your window? 1 HappyCruiser Posted May 5, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 5, 2010 We were put in a 101 cabin I believe on the Star one year & the only thing I didn't like about it was all the extra walking. We had no complaints about movement in that area of the ship but that's all depending on the wind & seas on a particular voyage. We did have a aft cabin (R749) on the Emerald one time (Riviera deck) & the constant jiggling from the props was very annoying and since then we tend to book forward or mid-ship if possible. Also in the aft cabin the door leading out to the Terrace pool begins to slam shut every few minutes starting at 6 AM due to people going for early morning breakfast so it you're a late sleeper this isn't a great spot. bluenoser2 Posted May 5, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 5, 2010 We were in E103 on the Sapphire - there is no door at that end to get out to the Promenade. We didn't find it noisy at all - no one walks on the promenade deck after it gets dark (they close the area off) and the only night we heard sounds outside (or for that matter anywhere!) was the last night when we were already docking at Whittier Alaska at midnight and it was still light out! We really enjoyed the room - but we also like walking - and yes, it is a bit of a trek to get to the place just outside your window!
Colo Cruiser Posted May 5, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 5, 2010 Yes there is a door at the forward end of emerald deck on either side of the ship to access the upper promanade deck. This is an excellent location, like haing a balcony anyway. The stairs from the promanade deck outside to the upper area are shut off with a gate from sunset to sunrise. The windows are mirrored so people outside cannot see in, however at night its reversed and if you have a light on inside people can see in so keep the curtains drawn. Great area at night to star gaze too. ;)
