Please help ...What would you choose...DTW 2 hr. or 4 hr. layover to make a connection to a DL flight to LHR in Aug....Have never been to this airport before..Just had a missed DL connection in ATL this past weekend (to LAX) missed it by just a few minutes because of weather and late arrival..Then not enough standby available on next flight...then got lucky:D was confirmed on the next flight the new DL Triple 7..Pod seating 14 B&C..what a way to fly..All I can say is WOW

Completely depends on your own risk tolerance, and if there is anything after your flight to LHR. (Perhaps via AMS?). How "safe" do you want to be?

2 hours is a decent connection - DTW is far easier for connects than ATL. If you take the longer connect, you can either use the SkyClubs (if you have access), stroll through the light-show tunnel, rest near the Water Feature or have a nice meal at the Westin, which is attached to the terminal. Plenty of other dining as well. Reasonable amount of shopping available, and there is a day spa where you can have some "work" done on you, including massages.

Try the DTW website for more info.
