keishashadow Posted April 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2010 Noob Qs re Senior & Resident rates for my state that just popped up on my sailing They're only offered on on a couple of OV cabin categories, is this typical? Do the balconies or suites ever get included in either of the rates?
firefly333 Posted April 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2010 They pop up for whatever cabins they want to push that arent selling. We had only guarantee insides instead of 4As, when 4As were sold out. If a 4A popped up, then it was a choice instead if you wanted instead. I dont know there is a typical? lillian marie Posted April 2, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2010 It seems that these better rates are always on the left over cabins. MY dh is over 55 and I've never seen a sr. rate on a balcony catagory, but thats just my experience.
Irishlinny Posted April 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2010 On our upcoming cruise, I've seen the senior rates for all cabins across the board, so it does happen. I've got $500 in OBC for 2 different senior rates on our suite!:D I love Early Saver!!!;)

cruisebie Posted April 3, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2010 There were both senior & resident rates available for balcony cabins last year on the Freedom and we were able to choose the cabin we wanted. As others have said, it probably depends on how well that particular sailing is selling out. Hope you are succesful in finding a good rate for your cruise! 5waldos Posted April 5, 2010 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2010 We found both rates for different cabins on and off. Sometimes they would be offered in the morning, not in the afternoon, and again in the evening. It often felt very random so check back often- I got a senior rate that was posted for about an hour then disappeared, never to be seen again. I think it is to keep you coming back to the web site! And, for me at least, it worked. They lured us up to an Ocean Suite which was perfect for us.
