Opinions on CB cabin E316 & book now or wait

I have this inside cabin on hold right now. The location seems OK, though it's above the casino. I don't suppose noise is a problem, though, or is it? What's in the surrounding area? There are only two lonely cabins there, same on Dolphin, amid a block of white. Is it a crew area, or something noisy?

The second part of the question: I have been quoted $724 pp including all taxes & fees for the second week of January 2011. Is this high for an inside for that week (it's after all the holidays)? The Summit is about $200 less for an inside for basically the same itinerary and comparable ships (but we don't want to go on =X= after a fairly horrid cruise :( on the Summit last year). Anyway, q for the expert pricers :), should I take this or wait to see if the prices get any better? I'm booking with a cruise-only agency that I've used for years, if that makes a difference in your opinion :).

Thanks!

Well, the price of $724.00 seems high for an inside but perhaps others who have cruised inside might know better. I'm booked on the same ship in Dec of this year and am paying about $300 per person more for a mini-suite. I've paid as little as $950.00 per person total for a mini-suite and in the $800's per person for balconies. Done a couple of obstructed view guarantees anywhere from $429.00 total to $525.00 total per person. So, with my price history (and I've seen some others with better) it just seems a little high for an inside cabin. Also, I've cruised a few times in January and have found that typically the fares are better a few weeks after the holiday. It could be that your particular sailing is booking well.

The blocked area is probably not something noisy although I don't know that particular location on this ship. There are some decks with just a few inside cabins and then those "white areas" which may be storage or something not sure but probably not noisy.

Considering the first three weeks of January that college students are off because they are in between semesters, I think that price is fairly average for that time of year. Also, these bookings were available probably now close to a year and very possible that the sailing is selling well. I would not wait to book because if prices come down, you should be able to get your travel agent to book you at the lower price before final payment.

As far as being above the casino, not sure if noise is an issue but I personally like to book cabins with passenger decks above and below me. The difference in price for the upper decks is usually only $20-$40 more per person.

The first two weeks in December for the Caribbean is generally the cheapest (next to September) so that is a little hard to compare.:)

Thanks to both for your replies :-). I guess I'll go ahead and book. I know this agent has always gotten us good rates... I just wanted it to be cheaper LOL. This will be our first inside {{eek}}, but the travel budget is tight this year and it's this or nothing (we live in SJ so a cruise is the absolutely cheapest vacation we can take!). It's funny how prices can vary so much. This January we did a 9 day Western Caribbean on Royal (leaving Jan 2 from Miami), and paid only $740 for a balcony!

Again, thanks for your tim and opinions. Happy travels!

I would never book an inside at that price for a Caribbean itinerary unless it was peak season. I have paid less for a balcony. I have also received flash promo sales for the time of year you are going. That price will come down as the time gets closer. Princess has been running a lot of last minute deals lately. I booked our up coming May cruise a year in advanced for $579 for an inside knowing the price will drop. In Oct I canceled because I wasn't sure we would be able to go. I rebooked the same cruise in Dec for $364 in a higher category than the original booking. I am in d312 and d318 on CB next month so I will find out first hand what the white space is. My guess it's a service area for laundry, supplies and room service. If you book keep an eye out for price drops.
