pub on Mariner smoking or non?

In Feb. on Voyager, the pub was non-smoking...thank goodness. How about the pub on Mariner? Seems like last May it was non. I know I spent quite a bit of time there.

It seems to me it was non-smoking...but I'm not 100% on that.

I believe last September, there was smoking allowed. I remember ordering a Guinness and taking it out into the mall area.

Last time I was on it was smoking and one of my moms favorite stops......They had a good guitar player at night..

In 06 it was smoking- so we just sat out in the promenade area where they had some cafe style tables (just outside the pub) so we could hear the guitarist- he was great!

Liked the guitar, but couldn't take the smoke. A lot of others didn't seem to want to endure it either as there were never any seats right outside the pub.

When we were on in June it was definitely very smokey... Hope this helps !!!

If you are referring to the Wig & gavel, no, there was no smoking as of last week. My DH, who is a smoker, walked just outside to the Promenade and down the stairs that led directly into the Casino. He probably played a hand or two every time!

And we were delighted!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the guitar player for the first time!!! :) Sat inside and joined in singing with the other passengers. All the other times on this class or bigger, the pub has been Smoking. The guitar player was so happy, he really enjoyed singing in a non-smoking environment he told us.

 

I commented on the card how happy we were, to be able to go in there and finally enjoy that lounge and great music!!!!! Hopefully other ships have Non Smoking in their pub too! Not fair to passengers, to be left standing outside.......listening to the music from afar.............:(

It was recently changed from smoking to non-smoking. We are thrilled, as we enjoyed that little bar a lot, until a smoker lit up. We would move outside...the smoke would follow us :o

I can't wait for RCI to tell smoking pax that they have to change their clothes if they have been smoking and want to enter a non-smoking area.

 

How dare they force non-smokers to sit next to them and get a whiff of smokey clothing!!!

Loved the pub on Explorer and Navigator but couldn't stand the smoke (ex smoker here) I am so happy Mariner pub is now smoke free:D

It's on my wish list. Now that the Royal Promenade is non-smoking, Bolero's and the casino are the closest bars allowing smoke. I got a lungful of smoke every time I walked through the area, and it was hard to enjoy dancing to the excellent Latin band.

 

I agree about the perfume, too, especially rich scents on a rough sea day.:eek:

As of the 3/21 cruise, Voyager's pub was smoke free.

If I recall correctly we were told in January that it was RCI's intent to make all Promanades smoke free.
