Platinum status letter ?

Recommended Posts

I just received a letter stating that we are now platinum members. However, we have not yet taken our fifth cruise with RCI, tho' we have it booked. Anyone know if we do indeed qualify?

If it is in black and white, I would belive you do. How soon till the cruise? Less than 70 days? Might be that they are going to extend the platinum level to you for this current cruise.

Were any of your four previous cruises longer than 7 days? We had a 10 day on the Grandeur in 2000 and got double credit. Now you have to sail 12 days or longer.

Enjoy the platinum status. We love the extra perks!

Yes, my April cruise was 11 days, but I thought as of Jan.2004 you had to sail 12 or more days for the cruise to count as 2. Hmm. Guess I'll call my TA and ask him to see if I can get $100 off my next cruise if I am actually platinum!

Hi,

It is still 12 Nights, not 11. That has been in effect for quite a while. If you had a JS suite or above on that cruise, you now get an extra credit

You are correct, call your TA and let them find out for you.

To all of you who answered, thanks for the input. Interestingly, my TA had already given me Platinum status $100 each off my balcony cabin for April 8, 2005, as well as his discount. He advised that I was given double credit for the 4-19-2004 11 day cruise. I know that doesn't jibe with the stated change that requires over 12 days to get double credit starting Jan. 1, 2004. I only suppose it is because we booked prior to that date that it was counted.

Hi,

The 12 night has been in effect. It is not something new. I have done the 11 nights and never received any extra credit.

Perhaps they just made an error, to your benefit. icon_wink.gif
