Shore excursion in Haines

I had a question about an excursion in Haines? It is the Chilkoot Lake bicycle excursion that Princess offers. Has anyone done this? If so what did you think? Would I be better to take a ferry on my own and rent a bike myself. Any feedback is appreciated.

I don't know where you would be biking to??? There is a nice road to the Lake along the river, and a campgrounds at the lake but I don't think there is any biking around the Lake??? Very very scenic, with a little web searching, perhaps you can find a bike rental on your own, then have the beauty of biking at your whim. :) Include then perhaps the Haines Highway??
