Capricruiser Posted April 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2010 Looking to hear from other CC members who have done this cruise on the Romantica out of Mauritius. The 2011 itinerary sounds very interesting, with three days at Mauritius, three at Mahe (Seychelles), then three ports on Madagascar, Reunion, and back to Mauritius. The days anchored at Mauritius and Mahe mean lots of beach time which will be most enjoyable coming from wintertime Europe. I know the Romantica isn't new and isn't huge, but that doesn't bother us at all. The food and European cultural differences are fine with us, and even though we're non-smokers, we've never had anything to complain about on other Costa ships. I've read the CC Romantica cruise reviews. That said, what additional advice can you give us?
sharrie Posted July 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2010 Hi We sailed from mauritius to singapore for easter 2010 and had a fantastic time aboard the romantica. We only had an overnight in port in mauritius and so didn't have a lot of time to explore what appeared a fantastic island, so the extra day will be great to get out and about away from the port (which is lovely though). When in seychelles don't miss a trip on the magical creole night to Takamaka beach at sunset it is beautiful. We had not sailed costa before (have been P&O and Princess mainly) but we don't favour the new superliners (too big for us) and absolutely fell in love with the romantica (pardon the pun!). If you are prepared to embrace the international culture and mixed nationalities onboard you will have a great time I'm sure. Enjoy it
