Dizziedi Posted April 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2010 Hi all, we have booked B2B for the rugby world cup:D in NZ on the Rhapsody of the Seas - just wondering if any other CC members have. Regards, Di
Jolimont Posted April 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2010 I haven't, but I wish I had, sounds like a hoot! Are you going to go to games or watch on the ship?
Dizziedi Posted April 9, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted April 9, 2010 Hi, yes we get to go to the quarter-finals(2), semi finals, bronze final and the grand final:D:D. The tickets are included in the price. The ship will basically roam the east coast and the second cruise will bring us back to Sydney. Di
Rare NorbertsNiece Posted April 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2010 Have you looked at the roll call board? Without knowing the dates/ship I can't redirect you there.....
Dizziedi Posted April 9, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted April 9, 2010 Yes thanks, no roll call as yet - just thought I'd put the feelers out. I will try again later, maybe after the tri-nations and the last of the Bledisloe cup games. This cruise will probably only attract Australians and Kiwis however the English, Welsh and Irish should be looking at it. Di

jhogun Posted April 13, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2011 Hi all, i saw a great idea for getting to the rugby world cup 2011. Some Aussie rugby legend are on the cruise too. waterman1 Posted August 28, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 28, 2011 This board is very quiet - just Dizzedi and ourselves (Waterman1) so far who have commented on these boards that are on this cruise. I would think after Australia's recent win over the All Blacks that a little excitement would have crept in. My husband wants to know if he should bring his 'boots' (circa 1960) just in case an oldies match against the other ships ie Volendam or Pacific Dawn occurs.

You can then meet up with other folks that are doing the same cruise(s) that you are. I would have given you the direct link but you did not mention a sailing date in your initial post. There are no roll call threads for these specialist charters in October. I guess it's mostly likely to be rugby fans rather than cruise fans, so no real surprise there isn't much chatter here on CC :)
cinogirl Posted September 6, 2011 #11 Share Posted September 6, 2011 My partner Colin and I are going on the Volendam, which will cruise to Tauranga and Waitangi, then dock in Auckland for 4 nights during the semi final and final of the RWC. I tried to start a roll call under Volendam but had no replies.

There's going to be a lot going on (besides rugby) in Auckland while we're there - can't wait.

I have just bought five tickets in a Rugby sweep here in Point Lonsdale one for my husband and myself and one each for our three grandchildren, at least things are 'warming up'.:D
