Rugby World Cup Cruise NZ 2011 Anyone?

Recommended Posts

Hi, yes we get to go to the quarter-finals(2), semi finals, bronze final and the grand final:D:D. The tickets are included in the price. The ship will basically roam the east coast and the second cruise will bring us back to Sydney.

Yes thanks, no roll call as yet - just thought I'd put the feelers out. I will try again later, maybe after the tri-nations and the last of the Bledisloe cup games. This cruise will probably only attract Australians and Kiwis however the English, Welsh and Irish should be looking at it.

Hello

We will be joining Rhapsody of the Sea in October 2011 - on the same timings - finals etc. I think this is a 'bucket list' activity.

This year ny husband is trying to get a game in the Golden Oldies in Sydney - he is 65!!!

Regards

This board is very quiet - just Dizzedi and ourselves (Waterman1) so far who have commented on these boards that are on this cruise. I would think after Australia's recent win over the All Blacks that a little excitement would have crept in. My husband wants to know if he should bring his 'boots' (circa 1960) just in case an oldies match against the other ships ie Volendam or Pacific Dawn occurs.

If I may suggest that you go over to the Rhapsody of the Seas Roll Calls Forums and find the date(s) of your sailing. You can then meet up with other folks that are doing the same cruise(s) that you are.

I would have given you the direct link but you did not mention a sailing date in your initial post.

There are no roll call threads for these specialist charters in October. I guess it's mostly likely to be rugby fans rather than cruise fans, so no real surprise there isn't much chatter here on CC :)

My partner Colin and I are going on the Volendam, which will cruise to Tauranga and Waitangi, then dock in Auckland for 4 nights during the semi final and final of the RWC. I tried to start a roll call under Volendam but had no replies.

Hi Cinogirl, I am also very disappointed that there is very little 'chat' on the Rugby - must be all rugby and no crusers

Yeah, pretty disappointing. There's going to be a lot going on (besides rugby) in Auckland while we're there - can't wait.

I have just bought five tickets in a Rugby sweep here in Point Lonsdale one for my husband and myself and one each for our three grandchildren, at least things are 'warming up'.:D
