purrcycat Posted April 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2010 I am going on my very first cruise in just one week! I am just curious....what is the temperature like in the cabins? I know they are air conditioned, but do you have an individual temperature control? Also, in the Casino, MDR etc., are they comfortable or on the chilly side? I realize that this is subjective, but would like a few opinions. Thanks! :)
Toto2Kansas Posted April 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2010 Yes, each stateroom has their own thermostat that you can control. Many public areas can be rather cool, such as the casino and some dining rooms. It's always best to go with some sort of shawl or sweater, just in case you are too chilly. Enjoy! paul929207 Posted April 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2010 You can control the temperature in your cabin. The public rooms are often cool, even in the warmest climates. My wife always has a sweater or shawl with her indoors.
shawilson Posted April 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2010 I always find the casino very chilly. I thought it was just me, but if you look around, a lot of folks wear a sweater or some kind of cover up to keep them warm. On Ruby in March, my hands were so cold, I had to go outside to get warm, and this was in the Caribbean!
Putterdude Posted April 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2010 The cabins have individual thermostats, the public areas I would estimate are in the 70 to 72* range. You may find the dining venues a bit cool to begin with but at the room fills up the temps do rise.
BaileyandBella Posted April 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2010 I found the public areas to be cool when we were cruising, but on the warm side when docked.
Rare Hlitner Posted April 12, 2010 #8 Share Posted April 12, 2010 There is a general rule about the onboard temperatures of cruise ships. There are always passengers that are too hot and also too cold and this usually happens in the same places at the same times! We agree that its a good idea for the ladies to alway have some kind of "wrap" for the evening. As to the Casino, we stopped going to the casino because we always felt like it was being in a gas chamber (because of the smoke). Hank
