Most you ever won from a cruise casino

To my knowledge, Princess does not ask for SS numbers, nor send a W2-G (t's not a 1099) to the IRS. My understanding is that although the ship is not US flagged, the corporation running the cruise is a US corporation, and the casinos are probably US corporations as well. In addition, for US citizens, income earned outside the US from a foreign source is taxable by the US as well, but there are all kinds of exemptions, mainly to solve the problem of double taxation. This is actually quite complex.

On RCI you can get a statement from the casino of your win/lose amounts to offset the winnings with your losses.

Why one company does this and not another is a mystery to me. But I am not a lawyer (or a tax accountant either).

Shalom from Tel Aviv. Andy.

One of the things I love about the casinos is you meet the same people every night and you become each others cheering party......it is good fun....and we usually end up even....but once on the same cruise we hit a fluke....hubby put out his chips usually $1 a # on roulette, but realized he had put a $25 on a number and went to take it back but it was too late and the number hit @ $35.00 to 1...NICE and then the next night while waiting to go back on the roulette table....we put $20 in a wheel of fortune slot machine and with $7 to go we hit the max bet and won $640 NICE again....like I said not the norm...but we ALWAYS have a great time in the casino...we make friends with the folks around us and the dealers and the pit boss.....lots of laughs to be had....even if you lose some money the entertainment value works out....unless you take it TOO seriously.....and spend mega bucks...

I won $1800 on the slots on the Carnival Legend and had to sign a W2-G and return to my cabin for photo ID before collecting in the casino. I questioned why as we were in International waters at the time-but they said any wins over $1200 are subject to US W2 forms. Also-I am taking a cruise next week, also on Carnival, which I won in Win A Cruise Bingo last year-and they made it clear that after sailing is complete, I would be required to complete a W2 as gambling earnings. I do request win/loss statements from casinos, but RCI told me to hold my ship/charge card and made me request it by mail following the cruise.

1st time cruiser, but have won quite a bit online....plan on bringing laptop if some downtime. I am also more interested in checking out St Martin casinos. Anyone have a favorite casino there?

Onboard internet costs will probably outweigh any wins you will rack up :o

Not sure it is still there, but the Diamond Casino in St Martin was enjoyable. It has been a few years since we have been there and at last visit, there was a bit of expansion happening. I still have a tee shirt I "won" as a runner up (read: LOSER) in a slot tournament.

I won 3 bingo sessions in a row on the Constallation for $600+, won a $250 jackpot on a Jackpot Party 25c machine, and have had other small wins which kept me playing for the duration of my cruise...all small stakes.

On the Emerald 2 yrs ago, the woman sitting next to me won $14,000 after hitting a straight flush on LET IT RIDE w/ 3 CARD POKER table.

I won't tell you how much I have won or lost.

But I can tell you that them most I have ever won or lost...and the fastest I have ever won or lost has been at the craps table.

There are times when I hate the game, and there are times when I love the game, but it is always exciting.

In 21 years of cruising (and, yes I play BlackJack :)), I have only lost once in over 15 cruises. that was on Celebrity Silhouette's first Inaugural 12 day Med cruise in 2011. dropped $5500 BUT that was sandwiched between a $10K win on RCCL Majesty in 2010 and a $6.5K win on Pacific Princess this past summer. I gamble to have fun, enjoy the company at the table and don't stay all night :D!

My basic rules are start slow and bet the wins, get out when the cards turn, and watch the free drinks. Above all, don't ruin your cruise!

25,000

15 dollar a spin slot machine on Princess. I hit the jackpot around 600 dollars in. It was on the first day of my cruise too a Ten day Southern Melody. I was SO happy.

The rest of the trip was a haze of massages and ridiculously extravagant shopping trips. We came home with 19k when it was all said and done.

best ever was on my first cruise. left the club on the explorer really late and had a hundo and an itch. only took away about 700 after a bad streak but it was a great run with lots of blackjacks to activate the bonus spin. one hand i had split four 8s (i belive one was even double downed) and had the dealer bust.

hoping for some good luck on the next cruise with some friends last time we took a trip together i ended up doing ok between some hold em cash games and BJ, my friends wife won about 2200 on slots the first night.

Boy.. have I seen lots of splits/doubles...

Here's one I had on the Legend in October. Dealer shows a 5 (or 6, can't recall) and I get a pair of 7's --- oddly right when I made my highest "what the heck, throw it out there" bet of the cruise: $225. So, I split, and split, and split, and two of those ended up as doubles. All of my hands turned into junk (under 17) hands, and the dealer manages a 20 or 21 (what's the difference at that point)!

After I got my FIFTH 7, I had to snap this photo with my phone - though I did it quickly, as they were getting worked up with my apparent photo taking:

I stopped there a month ago and wasn't elated with any of their casinos. Won't go back again/

My first 7-day cruise was on the Carnival Pride to the Mexican Riveria back in 2008. I was playing the penny machines and was about to give up when I decided to play $20 on a dollar machine. I pulled the handle maybe three times before I hit $300, and for those of you that know on the cruise ships they still had the coins dropping into the hopper, so although it was late at night, and not too many people there it made a lot of noise. Hoping to get lucky on our cruise in November.

Last time I was on the Majesty of the Seas (in September) I didn't win a thing. Just off second Majesty cruise on Monday and hit a few jackpots on several machines. Ended up with $8,000 in winnings!! Aside from a couple of announcements of smaller jackpots, not much else was happening. I just got very lucky this time. Even the casino staff were shocked which tells you something.

Did you try the Princess Casino in Port de Plaisance? In my opinion the best on the island and the one closest to a Las Vegas style casino. Also the Atlantis in Cupecoy is very good as well.

There are many (three in Philipsburg that I can think of) that are very bad from my perspective, but the two mentioned above are very good to great.
