*Mach* Posted April 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2010 It depends on the ship you're sailing on. With the exception of the suites, the Fantasy Class (Fantasy, Ecstasy, Imagination, Inspiration, Sensation, Fascination and Elation) do not have hair dryers. The cabins in all other classes of ships have hair dryers. They're located in one of the drawers of the desk/dressing tables... :)
Rockportgirl Posted April 14, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2010 I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but I think even if the room doesn't have one, your steward will bring you one if you ask.
SueG Posted April 14, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2010 The hair dryers I have TRIED using on the ships, took me forever to dry my hair. I now bring my own.
LemurCat Posted April 14, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2010 Some ships have hairdryers. Other ships have a tube that blows semi-heated air out of it that they call a hairdryer. Some ships don't have either.
MrCo9 Posted April 14, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2010 On some of the ships they are not the most powerful thiongs around. Standing on the bow might dry your hair faster.

imacruiser2 Posted April 14, 2010 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2010 Hair dryers on the ships that we've been on were never powerful enough, took forever to dry my hair. Always bring my own.
SMSACE6 Posted April 14, 2010 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2010 Besides what everyone says about the lack of power, and how long it takes to dry your hair, another problem with the hairdryers ( and they all were this way ) you have to keep your finger pressed down on the power button! Some folks have suggested bringing an elastic band to wrap around the button to keep it down. I still use it though, because a hair dryer is one thing that I hate to have to pack. I just grin/grit my teeth and bear it!:D

SaltBreezeCruiser Posted April 20, 2010 #12 Share Posted April 20, 2010 Do you need a special adaptor? I brought my travel hair dryer on my last cruise and it wouldnt work. I can't remember exactly why it didn't work....if the plug didn't fit, or if it just didn't turn on. But it had worked in the hotel room the day before. I need power - not just a whisper of air. okgirl Posted April 20, 2010 #15 Share Posted April 20, 2010 They have a LIMITED number of hairdryers to loan out and if you wait until you see your cabin steward you may not get one. So if you are on a Fantasy class either bring one or go to the Guest Services desk and request one as soon as you get on the ship.

TnMama Posted April 20, 2010 #17 Share Posted April 20, 2010 Im glad to know the Fascination does not have an in-room hair dryer in my class. I have short hair and had just decided to take my chances with the one in the room. Now that I know there is not one,Ill be taking mine now. Thanks!:D

Go to a public restroom and use the hand dryer. :) (Or wave at it with one of those BIG bibles!:D )
