Rare uktog Posted April 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2010 Ash Thursday as they are calling it. So strange here not a plane overhead it's so quiet Do hope any cruisers affected get to their cruises even if a couple of days late A
Denny01 Posted April 15, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2010 Funny, that's the 1st thing my wife and I thought of when we heard about the airport closings in Europe due to the Ash from the volcano - hope Brits can fly out to get to their cruises, and hope those flying in get to theirs! I was flying out of a US Navy airbase in Nevada when Mt St Helens blew. We had an aircraft come back with its canopy completely scoured – the pilot had to make an instrument landing because they couldn’t see out. Understand Amsterdam is closed also. So strange here not a plane overhead it's so quietDo hope any cruisers affected get to their cruises even if a couple of days late A Just read about the planes being grounded all over Europe. Here's hoping our cruising friends arrived at port early and won't "miss the boat". That would be such a great disappointment after planning and anticipating a cruise! A couple from Britain just posted on our Roll Call that they're going to miss tomorrow's PC cruise, due to the ash. So sorry for you guys & gals:(
CruisingChick Posted April 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2010 Oh my goodness, I just read about this. I feel so bad for those that are being "grounded." We always knew we had to worry about bad weather and hurricanes, but who knew that we'd also have to worry about volcanic erruptions.
