Does anyone have any good restaurant recommendations in Cozumel? I would really like to sample some authentic Mexican Cuisine. How’s Pancho's Backyard? Thanks..

 

 

 

You won't be sorry if you go to Poncho's Backyard. The most authentic Mexican food around. And you could spend hours in the store in front. The band is great and the service is wonderful. All of their water is filtered, so need to be afraid. The guacamole is to die for.

Sonora Grill has the mole sauce on the combination platter that we ordered....it had a chocolate flavor to it! I do not know the address, but it is 2 blocks from the miniature golf. I am sure Sally will tell us the street name soon!

Just FYI -- went to Pancho's Backyard as is our usual custom, when we were i Coz in January. 8-10 ships in port that day, and the wait was about 30 minutes. Never waited before. Worth it, but be prepared. Or go at 1:30 or so...

Oops! Thought I had posted the address. Sonora Grill has been around for a long long time, so all the cab drivers should know it. Just in case:

 

Avenida Juarez y 15 Avenida

 

or ask for the "Golfito" on Calle 1 y 15 Avenida and stop by for a drink coupon. Then walk one block to Sonora Grill.

Are Pancho's and Pancho's backyard the same? And can I walk there from the Pier?

 

 

Sally - Is your studio in walking distance from the pier? I might book an hour if it is....

I have same question as Workingmom -- I have a map that shows Pancho's Backyard 3+ blocks north of the Plaza but the map accessed by the link posted by Zydecocruiser shows Poncho's is located 2 blocks south of the Plaza?

Which is which?

Pancho's is probably where you think it is. They have Poncho's in the wrong spot on the map link I posted...
