River levels - concerned?

Hi there.

 

We want to take a river cruise in Germany and heard that river levels can be a problem. Does anyone know for sure and if so, which months are not good.

It all depends on the weather and as no one can make a long term forecast...

 

Usually we do have a spring flood in March/early April. This year we didn´t have one because we had less rain so the snow melted slowly. Usually August can be pretty dry with low rivers. There were two year with heavy rainfalls and high water in August.

Oh dear! I just booked Trier to Nurnberg in August! Hope we're ok! Last year's Danube trip was a bit of a disaster water and lock-wise, although Viking did a great job of getting us where they could, so I'd be really upset if we have problems again! AARGH!
