Wanted:Ft. Lauderdale hotel pre-cruise close to beach

Would like to find a moderately priced hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, close to beach, pre-cruise. Preferably with shuttle service to and from the airport and cruise port. Thanks

There is no shuttle, but the Courtyard Ft Lauderdale Beach may suit your needs.

I don't think any of the beach hotels have shuttles. That said, the Courtyard on the beach is a great location, nice hotel and close to the port. A cab wouldn't be very much. We stayed there once but we rented a car. This time we got a deal at the Westin Diplomat off Hotwire. We'll probably rent a car again.

What is your idea of moderately priced and what time of year? November through April a moderat hotel will run about $150 per night and off/shoulder season around $100.

 

Never pick a hotel in South Florida based on a shuttle service. I can promise you will regret this.

 

The best beach deals are in Hollywood Beach and Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. Go to www.Sunny.org and look for Small Superior Lodgings.

That is a great deal. While I've never stayed there, I am in the area all the time and the public areas are very nice. Also, that is a fantastic rate for peak season.

Thanks for the quick response. And I agree above - don't book a hotel for the shuttle. Most of the shuttles I have seen don't start loading people and a million pieces of luggage until noon when for a $10 taxi ride you can be on the ship by noon.

Have used Bahia Mar. They also stored luggage for us(beginning of cruise) and rented us a day room after the cruise while waiting for a late flight out of Fll. Right on the beach.
