Boarding on Explorer

Recommended Posts

Hi all: We'll be sailing on the Explorer on 11/7/10. We just have a couple of quick, really unimportant questions:

1) Do they serve champagne/orange juice as you enter the ship?

2) Do you find your own cabin or does someone 'escort' you?

3) I heard they have changed some poker machines on some RCL ship to vouchers? Is the Explorer one of the ships?

4) If they do a poolside BBQ one night in lieu of entertainment, is the MDR open for dinner if we chose not to go to the BBQ

5) Anything at all for "midnight/choc/Buffets in the DR or WJ

Thanks for kindly for all your time in responding:).

I look forward to any and all replies.

Safe sails to all:D

I can answer some of your questions

No champagne/OJ upon boarding

You will not be escorted to your cabin

don't know about the poker machines - sorry

The MDR will be open for dinner every evening

Usuallly there is a deck party one evening w/buffet however it is held late evening and its nothing like the old Midnight buffets - still a fun party with plenty of food

Hope this helps...enjoy

They don't serve champagne/OJ but you will find plenty of people walking around with drinks of the day for sale.

You have to find your own cabin but there are plenty of RCI folks to help direct you to where you need to go.

There were no vouchers in the casino - machines all paid coin out.

The poolside BBQ is at 11:30 P.M. The MDR is open for dinner every night.

Hi - people have answered your questions already but I wanted to add that if you are one of the first onboard, you will not be able to go directly to your cabin right away. The hallways will be blocked by big fire doors. They will open the doors at about 1 or 1:30 pm and then you may go and drop off your carry-on items. Until then, you must keep them with you.

Enjoy Explorer! She is magnificent.
