Outlets

I am traveling this summer with my family, and there will be four of us in a cabin. I wanted to know how the outlet/plug situation worked especially for cell and camera chargers and hair tools. since there are four of us that means a minimum of four things plugged in at all times usually. Will it work out on the cruise, and if there aren't very many outlets, do they provide power strips or can one bring one of one's own?

Depending on the ship, there is either one or two 115v outlets over the desk. HAL doesn't want people bringing their own power strips any more, so ask your steward for one on the first day.

If more outlet space is necessary, only Holland America Line provided power bars are to be

used. Please contact the Front Office for more information.

There should be two outlets at the desk: One is 110, and the other 220. Most of your rechargable items are dual voltage, so pick up a plug adapter from Radio Shack for European round two prong and you can use that outlet, too. There is also a low voltage outlet in the bathroom, intended for shavers, but it will charge your cellphone and cameras. To avoid the power strip problem, bring a three plug adapter...WalMart sells one that also has a little nightlight on it. There will be a hairdryer in the cabin. Don't try to plug in your own and use theirs at the same time...You might trip a circuit breaker. EM
