My wife and I are departing on a 7-day Mexican cruise on 5/2. This will be our first cruise ever so I have a lot of questions as you can imagine.

These questions are pertaining to on the ship.

1. Can we carry on soda, water, snacks?

2. What type of entertainment can we expect?

3. Is there a club with mexican music?

4. Explain the formal "captain's dinner night? How do we have to dress?

5. Are there any extra accomodations for special occasions such as wedding anniversary? My agent mentioned it on our registration.

6. Does the room tv have HBO and/or ESPN?

Nope not naive at all, but, may I suggest the search button in the upper right of the screen. type in general words like:

1. carry on soda (enter)

2. entertainment splendor (enter)

3. mexican music splendor (enter)

4. captain dinner dress (enter)

5. wedding anniversary (enter)

6. carnival hbo espn (enter)

Also, goto Carnival dot com and try the same entries in thier search box and I garuntee you will find your answers. This board is a wealth of information, the search function is fabulous and all of your answers are there, just need to do a little digging. Good luck and have fun.

1- YES you can carry on soda/water/snacks

2- comedian, some sort of show with dancing singing, 1 local Mexican show

+ games and activities during the day

3- check clubs specific to your ship

4- Cruise Elegant is described in the Carnival basic info on their web site

You can get as dressed as you want BUT the only thing required REALLY is

no blue jeans( my husband wears black jeans)and no sneakers(he wears black leather sneakers that look like shoes) AND a shirt with a collar.

Women go from nice slacks and fancy tops to dresses, skirts etc.

5-I don't think Carnival gives you anything for FREE for your anniversary.

They have packages you can BUY for special occasions.

6- I don't remember the tv channels sorry

There's a lot of info already on this site if you use the search function or if you go to the reviews and read them.

Do the same to find out about each port you are visiting.

MOST important------Have FUN!!!::

Your going on a cruise and your worried about HBO and ESPN? I dont recall ANY of the Carnival ships I have been on having either of those 2 chanels. The TV selection is VERY basic on the ship.

for our anniversary they delivered to our room a little desert thing. I am not sure what each ship does and if they do these things for first time guests or not.

I dont recall there being a club that played Mexican music but again this will vary depending on the ship. I have done the 7 day Mexican Reviera cruise as well. Fun cruise that I would do again BUT once you take a cruise to the Caribbean you will try and book one of those cruises before anything in Mexico. :D
