Has anyone heard how the oil explosion has affected cruise ships?

I suspect that they will steam around the fire rather than going right through it. Not to belittle the loss of human life, but it's a dot on a very large wall. It should have no impact.

I was just looking at the news report and it showed a star where it was in the ocean. From the reports it looks like it was right before you start to go down the river to New Orleans. No I wasn't concerned about our cruise.

While we do see oil rigs while either leaving out of the New Orleans or Galveston ports I don't think that it will affect any cruise line leaving or coming back to one of these ports. I am sure that our U.S. Coast Guard, port masters and ships' captains have plans in place to go around any rig fire/accident.
