Recommended Posts

Anyone know anything about cabin 6506 on the majesty or monarch. Looks to be an odd shaped room in the front of the ship.

I posted this review a while back about Room #6506.

My wife and I just got back from a 4 day cruise on Majesty of the Seas. We had room 6506. We did not get any pictures of the room. It would be rather hard to do so anyway. This room is shaped almost like what you see on the deck plan. As you enter the room the bathroom is on the right and the closet on the left. The closet works as a divider between the entry hall and the bed. There is a small desk on the right after you pass the bathroom. It is small but we heard that the rooms are on this ship. This was our first cruise so we have nothing to compare it to. The window has a chute to it and I acutally saw some windows that were similar and people had put pillows in it and it was actually large enough for an adult to lie in. We saw the standard rectangular rooms as we would walk down the hall but I couldn't tell if our room was larger or smaller. The only complaint I really had about our room is that the television is mounted on the wall ABOVE the headboard. When we wanted to watch T.V. we had to move our pillows to the other end of the bed, but we weren't in the room that much and didn't watch T.V. much either. I have read some reviews where people complained about the noise from the track above. This was not a problem for us and they have signs sitting on the track which say "absolutely no jogging or power walking between 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.". The window in this room looks out over the hull and if you get in the chute of the window you can watch the men prepare the ropes and anchor when you come into port. Yes it can be little noisy when the anchor drops but this is usually not before 7 in the morning. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

If you won the cruise, go and enjoy! My wife and I had a GREAT time and never regretted being in that room. By the way, it is the window to the left on your picture. Several times I would climb up in the chute and watch the guys below preparing to drop anchor. Kind of interesting. Have a great cruise!

Thank you so much for the info. The room and view sound interesting. Will take some pics of the room.

Back with some pics. I think this cabin is bigger than most on deck 6. At least from what i can tell from walking past other cabins with the doors open.

The cabin is an odd shape but does provide more floor space and you can put suitcases on the window shelf. Its a long walk to this cabin as its the second to last on the deck. I didnt hear any noise from joggers on deck 7 but the anchors were very loud and the you felt the waves more.

Best drawing i could do.

Not the best pics. Blame my girlfriend.

You have about a foot from the wall on each side of the bed. I guess about 2 feet in the middle if 2 twins.

The tv is in the corner above the headboard on the left side. So you do have to lay backward to watch. No biggie. The wall on the left is about 2 feet thick. Thats your closet on the other side. On the other side is also where you enter the room.

This is looking towards the front right of the ship from the foot of the bed. Its probably a good 6-8 feet from the bed to the desk. You can see the window on the left. Again, around the corner on the right is the little hallway for the closet, room entrance, and bathroom on the left.

This is the Chute to the window with a view of miami. This opening is pretty large. Maybe 3ft w x 3ft h and about 5 feet deep. I kept a full size suitcase up there.

I am curious - is there a small sofa, a settee?

I'm looking forward to trying this cabin during our next cruise.

I doubt there's a sofa in there. Majesty's and Monarch's regular inside/outside cabins are far too small to have room for one. They barely have room for the bed itself. :) I don't think that 6506 is that much later, despite its unusual shape.
