stiej Posted April 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2010 We were pricing Oasis for the summer and we noticed that while usually the 3rd and 4th passengers are less, on Oasis they are actually a higher fare than the 1st and 2nd passenger. Any ideas why (besides because they can be)? Thanks!
Cruising89143 Posted April 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2010 High demand at this time of year for third and fourth berths and the Oasis does not have a lot. There was a discussion on the main RCI board last week.
scubapuss Posted April 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2010 Then wouldn't it make sense to book two rooms.
bug18 Posted April 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2010 I will be on Oasis in July in a triple and the price for the 3rd passenger is higher. As a matter of fact there was a price drop for the first and second passenger that we could not take advantage of because changing the reservation would have made the 3rd passenger even higher so it wasn't worth it. This is the first time I have heard of paying more for the 3rd passenger. At this point I believe my sailing is sold out for triples because there doesn't seem to be any listed on the website. firefly333 Posted April 24, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2010 Iv actually seen posts about it on other RCL ships, so its not just Oasis they do this for. The only solution is to book two cabins, and say oh well.
gmm8631 Posted April 25, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2010 I had the same issue last month when i went to book our June 26th cruise. The 3rd & 4th passengers where both a about $400 more .I called RCL and they could not explain why.It was my TA that suggested that the inventory for four person cabins were problably running low and it would be in fact cheaper to book two cabins.Since it will be my dh and two boys 7 &10 I needed to have connecting rooms. It was no problem, and now I am thrilled that we will have 2 baths and all this room to spread out. Try for connecting rooms.
