Higher price for 3rd & 4th passengers?

We were pricing Oasis for the summer and we noticed that while usually the 3rd and 4th passengers are less, on Oasis they are actually a higher fare than the 1st and 2nd passenger. Any ideas why (besides because they can be)? Thanks!

I will be on Oasis in July in a triple and the price for the 3rd passenger is higher. As a matter of fact there was a price drop for the first and second passenger that we could not take advantage of because changing the reservation would have made the 3rd passenger even higher so it wasn't worth it. This is the first time I have heard of paying more for the 3rd passenger. At this point I believe my sailing is sold out for triples because there doesn't seem to be any listed on the website.

I had the same issue last month when i went to book our June 26th cruise. The 3rd & 4th passengers where both a about $400 more .I called RCL and they could not explain why.It was my TA that suggested that the inventory for four person cabins were problably running low and it would be in fact cheaper to book two cabins.Since it will be my dh and two boys 7 &10 I needed to have connecting rooms. It was no problem, and now I am thrilled that we will have 2 baths and all this room to spread out. Try for connecting rooms.
