Monte Carlo during Grand Prix

We have signed up for a cruise that overnights for the weekend of the 2011 Grand Prix.

As we are not car racing enthusiasts, would general touring of the area be greatly hindered by the event? We look forward to savoring the atmosphere of the event, but don't want to be stuck in the grandstands to watch the race.

With two days in Monte Carlo, what are some things to do besides watching the race and how difficult will it be?

Thanks.
