Q: What is your smoking policy?

A: In light of continuing legislative changes in smoking policies around the world as well as the comfort, health and safety of our guests and crew, both in terms of the proven dangers of second hand smoke and the fire hazard that smoking presents, smoking is prohibited in all suites, staterooms and balconies fleet-wide.

In addition, cigarette smoking is not permitted in any enclosed dining areas, whether it be the ships' main dining rooms or the alternate dining venues. Cigarette smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the outdoor Pool Grills. Other than open deck areas, the following are the only public rooms or areas where cigarette smoking is now permitted:

Seven Seas Voyager: Connoisseur Club, Casino, Voyager Lounge (designated area), Horizon Lounge (outside area only), Pool Bar

Seven Seas Mariner: Connoisseur Club, Casino, Horizon Lounge (outside area only), Stars Nightclub (designated area), Pool Bar

Seven Seas Navigator: Connoisseur Club, Casino, Stars Lounge (designated area), Galileo's (outside area only), Pool Bar

Pipe smoking is only permitted in the Connoisseur Club. Pipe smoking in open deck areas is considered an extreme fire hazard and is not permitted. Cigar smoking is only permitted in the Connoisseur Club, and in the designated area of the Pool Bar area.

Failure to comply with this ban will result in guests being asked to leave the ship at their expense, without refund or credit for the unused portion of their cruise.

Susan:

I also (oh the shame!) admit to still having need for nicotine and was worried that I wouldn't feel comfortable finding a place for a smoke. Let me give you a little advice here ~

First, there are plenty of places to grab a puff in different areas of the ship: the cigar lounge (where you will meet mostly men), the casino bar (where you will meet all of the smoking friends you have made), the few tables up on the pool deck designated for smoking (again, here's where you meet the happy smokers) and there is another smoking area outside off of one of the lounges, I forget the name but that area is sometimes frequented by NONsmokers who give you the "look" and need to be reminded that they have PLENTY of smoke free areas in which to relax :D

I am also a smoker, but I am very careful about this, and am super considerate of non-smokers, so have no idea why Orp sees the need to put it in RED. We smokers don't need that kind of alert.

There are a few places to smoke, all mentioned aforehand. The one lounge cruzndiz mentioned not identified by name is one side of the ship OUTSIDE at the back of Horizon's Lounge, far from the other seated area on the other side of the ship.

I think you will find few smoking complaints on Regent now that they have instituted their current policy.

You are very touchy jhp. I highlighted the piece i copied and pasted to differentiate between my words and the official policy.

I took your highlight the right way (perhaps because I don't smoke) As cruzndiz posted, there is plenty of room for both smokers and non-smokers on Regent. Do I wish the ship were non-smoking. . . . . absolutely!

This is venturing into dangerous territory of course and, as a reformed smoker, I am the worst kind. However, I felt that the smoking area outside the Horizon lounge on Mariner on the trans-Pacific in December was generally fairly disgusting. It seemed to be ignored by the cleaners for long periods and this great part of the ship seemed always to have empty cigarette packs and ashtrays groaning with butts. In fact it was the only area of the ship I didn't find pristinely clean. Maybe I am being a bit harsh on the cleaners as we did seem to have a lot of smokers.

turtlemichael, first, congratulations on your reformation!

You are absolutely correct, the "cleaners" are the bar waiters, and they do a pitiful job in this part of the ship outside Horizons. Fortunately, the closest door to exit from Horizons to the aft deck is on the other side, which I have also seen littered with coffee cups etc. but to get to the other area, you have to either cross the stage to get out the door on the other side, or walk all the way around from the non-smoking side, so it is easy to avoid.

They do marginally better in the Conn. Lounge, also adjacent to Horizons, but of course, you would have no need to go in there.
