Do you have any specific questions? Iv been on Conquest multiple times. The 3 year old can go to camp. I think at that age you get some kind of phone thingee where they can contact you if there is a problem. How is he away from the rest of you on his own?

If the children are not potty trained they cant go in the pools.

Many of the ships employees have children they miss so they will fawn over your kids and show them extra attention. The dining room will have high chairs and booster seats, if your kids can sit long enough to get you thru dinner.

Im not sure what kind of things you are looking to find out ...

First thing I would do is read the member reviews here on Cruise Critic, then second I would come back to the message boards and in the upper right is a search box, click that and type conquest review and read those. Then as questions come up, return to the search box and type your question in there and voila, your answer is likely there. In the unlikely event that it is not or you just can't find it, post a question, someone may know. And last but not least, when you do go on your cruise come back and write a review and answer questions.

Wow... that kinda leaves it wide open.

The Conquest is my favorite ship and Montego Bay is my favorite port.

Got specific questions? You'll get great answers from these folks...

:)

Really? That's fascinating. Please tell us what you like about MoBay, and what activities you engage in at MoBay.

Thank You:)

I DO NOT like Jamacia, wish they would stop going there.

Doug

WOW, while you may not like Jamaica, some do! And it's apparent that more do, hence why Carnival and other cruiselines continue to go there. Some people book certain cruises just to go to certain ports. If you don't like Jamaica, then book another cruise. Sorry to the OP!

Anyway, the Conquest is a beautiful ship. I have been on it twice in the last year. The ship is BIG, but I never felt overcrowded. Everything is so spaced out and well designed that you never feel like there is 3000 passengers on the ship. So many activities, so many places to relax. The food is great. Make sure you go to SurMer for fish n chips, and to the Mongolian grill. Also, if you've got the disposable funds ($30pp), PLEASE make sure you go to the Steakhouse. I HIGHLY recommend it. When I do the Conquest again, I am definitely doing the Steakhouse again, and more than once. On both my cruises on the Conquest, I did not do the pool nor slide. I will someday! The staff is great. The shows are OK, to me, they are amateuristic. The magic show is LAME imho. We set in the balcony and we could see the "punchlines" of the act so it wasn't really a surprise to us as we knew what was about to happen. Last year I sailed during superbowl and we had a superbowl deck party. This year I sailed during Mardi Gras and we had a Mardi Gras deck party that was AMAZING... It was so much fun. For the little one, there is camp carnival, and the camp staff is awesome. They really care for the kids that are in the program and it shows. There is also I think, 23 or so bars to choose from, several clubs, including a piano bar, comedy and karoyoke club, disco, game rooms, bakery, coffee shop, 24 hour pizza, burger grill, sub station, casino, shops to buy goods and merchandise, and an abundance of other things to do. All in all, I think you will love the Conquest; enjoy all of what it has to offer and its Itinerary.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

I sailed on the Couquest twice. Like Mach above, Montego Bay is head and shoulders my favorite port. If you are smart, and can politely say NO, then you will be completely safe.

Jamaica is a beautiful island. Try the "beach party" Carnival excursion. It was a private beach with lots of activities and great food. Had a fantastic time!

I too am a first time cruiser. My husband and I are falling in love again for our 10 yr. anniversary. We are going this next week! We are in a balcony in the middle of the ship. We booked excursions in Jamaica - Dunn's falls with Sky lift. Luckily, I read message boards before booking anything else. :D Shoul I wait and pay for things on my own for Caymen Islands and Cozamel... and what advice to you have on what to do and see there?

Thanks in advance!

We're cruising on the Conquest November 21, 2010. I noticed that most responses originate from Texas, and I saw Sooner9795 is, of course, from Oklahoma. Do the Texas schools have Thanksgiving break the same time as Oklahoma schools (the entire week of Thanksgiving)? Is it fair to say that the majority of cruisers on the 11/21 cruise will be from Tx/Ok area? My 15 year old daughter is quite excited at the possibility of meeting other teens residing in reasonably close proximity. She met kids from Canada, Maryland, etc when he sailed on the Liberty 2 years ago, & is still in contact, but thinks it would be cool to have the option of continuing friendships in person.

Montego Bay is also my favorite port! Consider spending your day at Sunset Beach Resort...they have day passes available for cruisers that include all the food and drinks (alcohol too) that you want, access to their non-motorized water sport devices such as snorkeling gear and paddle boats, and a big plus for the kids is a great waterpark and a lazy river with inner tubes to float on.

If you choose Sunset Beach, make sure you get a cab with JUTA plates. The fare should only be a few dollars each way; it is very close to the ship. You can actually see the resort from the ship when you dock.

In Grand Cayman, we did a private snorkel/stingray excursion. There was a little boy around three or four in our excursion group, and he had an amazing time looking at all the pretty fishies. The stingrays kinda freaked him out at first, but pretty soon he was giggling about them too.

In Cozumel all I did was attend the wedding of a friend and then shop on the way back to the ship, so no ideas for the kiddos there.

Whatever you decide to do, have a great time!

Oh and in Jamaica, in the last hour or two while in port, Jamaican schoolchildren performed in a marching band kind of show on the dock, which your little ones may enjoy.

Texas schools have the entire week of Thanksgiving off as well, so it is reasonable to expect there to be more families that week. From reading these boards it appears to me that the Conquest attracts a wide range of guest from everywhere. I have only sailed the Conquest once before and there seemed to be a large number of Texans onboard, but there were families and groups from everywhere.

I have been on the Conquest twice and I agree that it is a beautiful ship. The last time we were on it was this past November. We had several family members and friends with us and also joined up with a Veterans Group as we were sailing on Veterans' Day. We had a wonderful time.

We are Texans and our 12 year old grand-daughter made friends with many kids her age and is now FaceBook friends with them. They were from many various places, including Canada. She refers to them as her 'cruising friends." Even though she may never get to see them again, it is like having Pen Pals.

Our schools only have off W-F for Thanksgiving, wasn't aware of that many Texas schools being out all week.

You will love the Conquest. Been on her twice & going again in October. As others have posted, you do not notice all the people on board since it is such a big ship.

We did the Twister excursion through Carnival in Cozumel. Was the most fun I have ever had. The ride over is a blast. (Prepare to get wet!) I don't like thrill rides but loved this (maybe it has something to do with being relaxed because I am on a cruise??) Would do it again without a second thought.

Happy Cruising!

We are in Texas also, and the schools in our area are only out W-F also.

Wow...really? I have been on the Conquest once and enjoyed Jamaica, but most people I hear really aren't fond of it. I get so surprised when I hear people say they don't even want to get off the ship. The island, and the people, have so much to offer.
