Thanks for the fabulous pictures of the Eclipse. The ship is absolutely stunning!! The decor is beautiful and worthy of a 5 star plus rating ..as luxurious as any high end hotel property I have ever seen!!

Can't wait to set sail on June 1st ...counting the days.

Happy Sailings,

Nancy

Couldn't get into Qsine - which you must booked as soon as you can.

I was blown away with the menu's in there - bloody Apple iPads !!!

Make you order electronically - crazy

Everyone ENJOY !

OH - and get round that Martini bar, get in with Peter, one the staff, you'll known who he is after a few minutes of being there.. he will make you holiday :D

I met Peter on the Equinox TA last November! You're right, he was fabulous! Was Putu in the Martini Bar too? What about Janelle or Raisa as servers in the Martine Bar?

I met Peter on the Solstice and he was fantastic! one of the best bartenders ever.

I met Putu on the Constellation and he is very good too.

On our most recent cruise on the Equinox, Togi was the main bartender and he ranks with Peter as one of the best. It is good to know these guys are still around.

How soon can Q be booked? I can't get in to mask a reservation yet for ournovember sailing!

We have already made our Select and Speciality bookings (for Murano and Qsine) for our October sailing, so I would keep checking back as these restaurants seem to be very popular and some slots have already gone on our trip!

Thanks so much! Will try again now and will call captains club soon if all else fails.

Got some good info to share. I called regarding specialty dining reservations...which were not yet open for our 11/20 sailing. I was told that they open all "like" itineraries at the same time...meaning this is the 2nd sailing after the TA... And they will open bookings for all Caribbean sailings for the season at the same time...any week now.

I share this will my fellow CC friends and ask that you save seats for me at Q and Murano if you get through before I do when they open these sailings up for reservations! :D

If it helps anyone, our cruise is Eastern Med. from Southampton - so it's possible if there are any other X ships in the Med during October that their speciality bookings are open too. We sail on 4th October and we have booked (and paid for, as well as receiving confirmation) Muranos, Qsine, an excursion - and have also pre-booked our Select seating for all other nights - I hadn't realised this was possible so far in advance either, but glad I found out - I have never known DH to be so impressed by a meal as he was at Murano - the service was impeccable and the crepe he had for dessert, which was flambe tableside was the best desert he has ever tasted -- the crepes at Bistro5 are good, but this was a different league.

Hope you all manage to make your reservations - another small snippet - we were told that on future cruises on Eclipse (so presumably on other S class ships) the complementary specialist restuarant booking for suite passengers will have to be taken on the day of embarkation - it was the excellent maitre d of Muranos who told us this, so I guess he would know. He also said the menu is on the X website, but I haven't found it there!

(Librarylady - we also booked via a TA, and always do, but we add our reservation manually to the website and can then make reservations/book escursions/buy packages etc - we just can't make any changes to cabin including bed arrangements.)

Hi Abbafan - I am ashamed to admit I don't know his name - however I do believe he was French and he had dark grey hair and glasses, and he was more mature than some of the other staff - does this sound like him? He was certainly excellent at his job as were all the staff, so we added a generous additional tip! We're hoping he'll be on the ship in October - he wasn't quite sure whether or not he would be though.

The free specialty dining on night one concurs with what we experienced on Summit last May.

We were in an RS and our butler extended that same invitation to us night 1.

We like to meet out waiter in the mdr that night so we declined. Good to know it is the same on S class to plan better.

It could possibly be him,he is French and he did wear glasses, don't recall grey hair although it was about 3 years since we saw him, maybe the pressure of the job has turned his hair grey!!

Was the Maitre d at Muranos a French guy caled Dominique by any chance?

Mr. Dominique Gamba opens up all the new specialty restaurants, so he was definitely on board. He is a very nice man. :)

Thanks Texed and Ma Bell

We met Dominique when he opened Muranos on the Century, hopefully he will still be on the Eclipse when we sail on June 1st.Lisa

Your chances look good. We are on the 26 June sailing, and Mr. Gamba said he thought he would be there. :)
