PV beach at Fiesta Americana hotel?

Fodor's lists this as one of the best beaches in PV. Anyone ever gone there? Taxi rate? I don't think the hotel zone is very far from the cruise pier.

The last time I was at that hotel and beach - there was raw sewage and used condoms floating in the water. I unfortunately discovered this while swimming in that very same water and needless to say, I shot right up out of the water and never went back in! Hopefully, the water is cleaner now but I would proceed with caution.

Hey August just checking, hope you saw my later message on the thread "Day Pass at Mex Riv hotels" ... more info about cab rates to El Cid.

BTW, I don't know whether El Cid charges for day use, I emailed them the other day but no reply yet.
