sleeping

There's a thread on the regular Carnival board asking when do you sleep with so much going on on the ship. I'd like to modify that for Alaska in that there are so many hours of daylight and so much to see. Budget Queen, am I apt to see whales, etc at any time? I know you spend lots of time on deck. Do you partake of the shows etc. on board?

You can see whales- be out on deck several hours before and after Juneau- a likely spot, also when sailing Vancouver Island- you have more opportunity with a southbound sailing, but I have seen orcas on northbound trips being out before dawn. And no - I most never see any ship shows in Alaska, dining is a low priority too. :) I try to get some salmon/halibut in at least one port.
