Deck recommendation on Oasis

What would you say is the best deck on Oasis? We will be traveling with our two young children and are thinking of two connecting Ocean Balcony Rooms on Deck 11. Do many folks/children get seasick on this boat? RC said since the boat is so huge, not many get sick. Thanks.

Look at the deck plans. Try to figure out where you'll be likely to spend the majority of your time...pool, casino, promenade...and book a deck within easy distance of that! It will make life so much easier if you can take a flight of stairs to go back and forth to the cabin, rather than having to take an elevator everytime you need to go back and forth!

Just because the ship is huge, doesn't mean you won't feel the "ocean motion", should seas get rough....when you're out to sea, even the largest ship is simply a cork upon the ocean! It WILL move!

Try to book something midships, if possible.

Will you get seasick? If you're not prone to motion sickness on land, in cars, amusement rides, etc....then you'll probably be fine. Kids (especially very young ones) are less susceptible than adults.

We were on the Oasis in March and we were in an Oceanview balcony on deck 8. Reasons:

1. No inside cabins on this deck means fewer people in the hallways

2. Quiet

3. Got to walk through Central Park everyday (since we mostly ate at the specialty restaurants, this was a good location for us.)

4. Easy to get to Spa and other decks - we were near the front elevators.

5. Convenient for getting snacks at Park Cafe any time of day

6. The Rising Tide starts on this floor and goes down to 4 - sometime's we'd jump onboard and take the ride just for fun! (from 4 you can easily get to Boardwalk or go shopping or whatever.

7. Oversized balcony

The ship does move quite a bit - more than I would have expected considering how wide it is. We took Antivert and had no problems at all. I would recommend getting that for your whole family from your doctor. It does not make you sleepy.

One really cool thing is that Ft. Lauderdale is still excited about this ship and people come out with airhorns and banners to wave the ship out to sea on departure. It's the first time I've ever experienced a send-off like this on a ship and it is really, really fun! Be sure to be watching for this during your sailaway!

We sailed on the inaugural and I didn't notice much movement so hopefully you had rougher seas the week you went!

We were in an ocean view balcony cabin 6688 (D8) which is somewhat aft. We loved the location as it was convenient to the Boardwalk on 6 (aft) Promenade on 5 and Central Park on 8. We also like our balcony to be closer to the water so we can enjoy the connection to the sea even more.

I have read quite a number of reviews and comments about cabin location and it seems most people are quite happy wherever their cabin is located; makes me think everyone is just happy to be there!!!!

In 18 days (who's counting :D) we will be on her again. We originally booked a cabin just a few doors from our previous cabin because we were so happy with the location. However, today we got a (our 1st ever) visit from the upgrade fairy (oceanview balcony junior suite, whooo hooo) so we are now on deck 7 close to the aft elevators which is not too far from the aft location of our cabin on deck 6.

Good to hear that you like cabin 6688. We booked a couple balcony cabins right around there for the Allure and I was wondering how the location was.

I was worried for a bit because I couldn't find anything on it. Finally, I am happy with the cabin selection.
