emmalbrent Posted January 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2005 We have requested a table for 8; there are 4 of us and wanted to meet new people. I just read on one of the reviews that the tables are 2 and 4. 8 is for large groups only. Any clarification????
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 31, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2005 There are tables for 8 on the Westerdam. HAL does try to save the larger tables for groups that are traveling together. On the second week of our cruise, there were 500 people from Excursions Unlimited Incorporated traveling together. And they were all trying to get tables as close together as possible. This is a busy time of the year for groups traveling together. All you can do is have your contact HAL and reguest a table for 6 or 8 and hope for the best. emmalbrent Posted January 31, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted January 31, 2005 Senior Moment. Forgot to post date of sailing. Sep 8, Gems of the Baltic. So maybe won't be a lot of groups; last sailing for that cruise. We are in a group. But our TA requested separate seating for us. Think the group is about 12 or 14 and don't know if they are sitting together. Even tho we are mid-60's, the rest of the group will probably be in their 70's. Our former tablemates from a river cruise are joining us on this cruise. We want to eat with them, but also want to meet new people. May have to wait until get on ship & check out table and go from there if need changes.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 31, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2005 It is rare to have really large groups traveling together on Blatic cruises. So you have a much better chance of getting hat you want. If you want to be certain that you are sitting with your friends have your TA also include the names of the people you wan to sit with. emmalbrent Posted January 31, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted January 31, 2005 Janet had her TA make a note to HAL that they want to sit with us. She had our cabin number and she managed to get a verandah down the hall from us. We are also traveling with Janet & husband, mini-suites next to each other, on Diamond Princess, Jan 8, 2006. Doing pre/post pkgs too. We had to cancel the Dec xmas 04 Sapphire cruise as Lanny broke his ankle. So our Rotterdam Venice/Venice April 29 will be his first walking tours. Doing pre cruise pkg and our friends from Worms, Germany, are coming over to stay with us in our hotel. Make final payment Feb 12 or so.
