blindone Posted May 29, 2010 #51 Share Posted May 29, 2010 Weary--- Just got back yesterday and the ship did just over 11 kn on both days. The seas were calm, too. Weather in Bermuda on Monday and Tuesday was rainy and gusts over 40 mph both days.
CruisinMaterial Posted May 29, 2010 #52 Share Posted May 29, 2010 Now that you're back from your cruise, wondering how it was. Were you bobbing like a buoy? Me & DH sail in 2 weeks! As a few other posters mentioned about the ship and 2 days back from BDA... we did just over 11 knots the whole time and we were pretty smooth except on Tuesday night leaving Bermuda. The rough seas were caused by two days of exceptionally windy weather caused by a stationary low pressure area south of Bermuda between there and Bahamas. It kicked up the sea pretty fierce in that vacinity and the local ferry to St George's could not run as a result as well. We struggled a bit to get away from the pier in Bermuda it seemed as we were pretty far away from it but then slowly drifted back towards it and actually bumped it when departing. That night was rough but he got the stabilizers out and things smoothened out quite a bit. The White Hot Party went on as planned and it didn't seem to phase anyone that the boat was rocking a small bit. It wasn't serious listing by any means. Hope this helps! :)
