Rare Tapi Posted May 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Watch out! Prices are falling! Just got off the phone with my PVP. 3 months out before our August cruise and I just got $200 refunded back to my credit card (still outside of penalty but had paid in full). That was a good way to start the week. Check your cruise. Maybe you have a similar surprise waiting for you! (I do wonder if the oil spill is affecting bookings for sailings out of gulf embarkation ports. I'm booked on a 7 night out of New Orleans and the price now is substantially cheaper than other 7 nights out of Tampa, Galveston or Port Canaveral for the same week...) poobears Posted May 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Our room category is all sold out so no price drops for me. Glad you got a good one though.

vacruisin Posted May 10, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Yes, we had $100 taken off our balance the other day as our cabin and cat price dropped! :D We got $110 in OBC also for our July sailing on the Freedom. Hoping for more too! :D
astropilot Posted May 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2010 We got $420.00 OBC on our recent Dream cruise. So far for our November cruise on the Dream we have gotten about $50.00 in reductions. You gotta love ES...

md10074 Posted May 10, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Lucky you! I check every day and so far, no price drop. I'm booked past guest and will have to make the final payment soon, so I think I'll be out of luck.
parrotthead Posted May 10, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Our Conquest cruise for August has dropped twice so far... LOVE IT! And I will keep checking! :D
shadoo Posted May 10, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Lucky you! We just booked for next March using ES for the first time (we usually use Veteran's discount). Hoping for price drops over the next 300 days!
BeachMartini Posted May 10, 2010 #11 Share Posted May 10, 2010 If I received an OBC, where would I find it? I'm clueless... we booked through an agency I found on Cruise Compete. So where do I check to see if the price has fallen? I'm assuming I would have to be checking, that this agency isn't going to just credit me! Does this apply only if you purchased via Carnival? Sorry for the question!

nxtdoor Posted May 10, 2010 #13 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Could I still get a price reduction if I've already paid in full and we are within 6 wks of sailing? thanks
riffatsea Posted May 10, 2010 #14 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Oh well!:( Our balcony for Jan.2011 has gone up today another $20. So far that makes about $70 more than what we booked sooo we got a good price but no OBC yet! I am not complaining as I think the price is great even without a drop.:p
OhioJeff Posted May 10, 2010 #15 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Could I still get a price reduction if I've already paid in full and we are within 6 wks of sailing? thanks If you booked under the ES rate, you can. If not...no
laumicmah Posted May 10, 2010 #16 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Our August cruise has gone up at least $100/person. I guess we got a good rate, but would love to get some OBC. Oh well!!
conchead Posted May 10, 2010 #17 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Our 5 day cruise for 3 is still $530 more than what we paid so, the price has to drop a lot before I can start thinking about OBC
cupcake26 Posted May 10, 2010 #18 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Ours keeps going up up up! But the new ports of call can probably explain it...
parrotthead Posted May 11, 2010 #19 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Could I still get a price reduction if I've already paid in full and we are within 6 wks of sailing? thanks IF you booked Early Saver you can get price drops up till 2 days before sailing. (given in the form of OnBoard Credit --'money' to spend on the ship--if final payment has been paid)
FreezingInMichigan Posted May 11, 2010 #20 Share Posted May 11, 2010 We booked Cat PT, not taking into consideration the category would sell out so quickly. Price was the same as a 4A which has dropped $30 since we booked. Lesson learned.

Rare Tapi Posted May 11, 2010 Author #23 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Lucky you! We just booked for next March using ES for the first time (we usually use Veteran's discount). Hoping for price drops over the next 300 days! We book using the Interline rate, however this time we were tempted to book under ES just to make sure that we could take advantage of any discounts after final payment. We still went ahead and booked under the interline rate though. For us, even with the latest price drop, the interline rate is still about $95pp less than ES so we're still on the winning end. However, if ES goes below the interline rate, I'm SURE it will be after final payment when we're locked in...
gazingm42 Posted May 11, 2010 #24 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Ours just goes up up up in the last 2 weeks. We about 300 cheaper than the current price. Even if there LOTS of room wide open. We just waiting for the drop ....
Fun, Fun 44 Posted May 11, 2010 #25 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Ours dropped $20. pp, but hopeful will get another. Usually average 2 per cruise. Just gotta keep checking, OFTEN!!:) Kat
