carnival spirit sept- snorkeling questions

As I read the posts I don't see much information about snorkeling on the different islands. Is that because the water was too cold in the winter-springtime. We are hoping to find good snorkeling beaches at each one of our stops. So far this is what I have planned.

Kona:Kalahuu Beach Park, we plan on taking a bus or taxi

Nawilwili-Kaui: Lydgate Beach

Hilo: Richardson Beach Park

Maui: Kapalua bay and Black Rock renting a car and spending the night at a hotel instead of driving back to the ship.

Oahu: Hanauma Bay

Do you know of any other good beaches that have snorkeling in any of these ports.

I think these beaches would be fine. The water in Hawaii is pretty warm year round. Did the Carnival Spirit in

Sept last year.....Loved it.

Best snorkling on the Kona side is Place of Refuge. It is amazing. The best snorkling of any tropical vacation we have been on. It is a small cove just to the right of the entrance to the Place du Refuge monument park. The water was beautiful in September 2004. We cruised from Vancouver to Hawaii. We returned for a land vacation in 07and stayed in Kona just so we could snorkel in this cove.

We are doing a return trip this year & it is definately on the list Place of Refuge

We did several snorkels on our Carnival Spirit cruise a few weeks ago and it was great. I would think fall would be warmer.
