I am going on the JOS in April and was wondering if anyone had pictures of the water slide. If you do send them!:D :) :eek:

Awesome pictures Bobbie! I haven't finished looking at them yet, but I bookmarked them to go back to later. We are going on the Jewel next January, so these will be great to 'drool' over until then. :D

 

Is the water slide just for little kids, or for adults too?

The water slide is for kids only. It is located in the Adventure Beach part of the ship. The adults have their own pool located in the Solarium (no kids allowed).

Another question since we're going this weekend:

 

Are there DVD players for the room TV's? Or do we have to bring a DVD player if we want to watch?

 

(Yes, I know people are saying, why would you want to watch a DVD when you are on a cruise, but my wife finds it relaxing to watch DVD's while going to sleep and we're halfway through season one of _Quantum_Leap_ and...

We were in a D1 category and there were no dvd or vcr players - don't know what type of room you're in . Maybe they have them in the suites but as far as anything below a suite they are not available. From what I remember it did not appear the TV's had any ports to hook one up, but I'm not 100% sure about that. The Jewel is a beautiful ship, you'll have a blast!!!

Thanks. We're also in a D1 cabin. If needed, we can watch the DVD on my laptop, but the screen isn't that large. Maybe we'll just have to go through withdrawel! :) Thanks again.

You're welcome hope it works out - but seriously, I don't see how you'll even have time to watch any movies!!! There is so much to do and I like to get my monies worth and see everything I can see. Drives dh crazy sometimes, he says I need to be on ritalin (sp?) when we cruise because I'm so hyper!!!! have fun!!!

As I said, DW likes to have something to relax and fall asleep to. I read on another thread that the TV's don't have DVD players, but do have panels on the front where you can plug in standard jacks. So I might get a portable DVD player...

Again, I'd like to echo that. Those pictures and Bobbies review made my wife and I cancel one cruise and book the Jewel. Royal Caribbean should give you an on board credit just for the extra business you've recruited. Course I've since found a couple other great reviews as well!
