ronirp Posted May 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2010 We are sailing Carnival Inspiration which arrives at 8:00 and leaves at 3:00. I understand that GC time is one hour earlier. We are looking into an excrusion that leaves at 11:15 and returns at 1:30. That puts us at 2:30 ship time, is that too close?
Rare Keith1010 Posted May 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2010 Usually you have to be back on the ship 30 minutes before the ship leaves port. In addition you need to know for sure whether or not you will be docked in port or on a tender where the last tender might stop running before 2:30 PM. See if Carnival can advise you on this. The other thing is if you are looking at a private excursion you have the added risk that unlike a ships tour if the private excursion gets you back late the ship will not wait for you. FreezingInMichigan Posted May 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2010 As mentioned, Grand Cayman is a tender port and the tender line can get lengthy. I can't imagine Carnival sailing away with a line of screaming customers on the dock but who needs the stress.. :(
