CruiserNicole47 Posted May 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Any women who use the flow rider, what have you worn?? I've heard lots of stories of tops (and bottoms) flying off... so I'm thinking about what I should wear? I have a one piece, but my large ladies will surely make an appearence, so will a regular t-shirt overtop do?
cb at sea Posted May 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Wear a t-shirt over your one-piece...so that the top won't get "knocked" off! That will work just fine! Be prepared for a wave-induced "wedgie" too!
poobears Posted May 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2010 A rash gaurd top would be comfy and some of the sporty style boyshort swim bottoms. No wedgies and no peek-a-boobs with that. :p
Beanie01 Posted May 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Last Oct. I sat for about 30 minutes watching people on Flowrider. If you're a woman, definitely shorts and a t-shirt over your bathing suit! Some women gave quite a show - top and bottom!

janabm81 Posted May 25, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 25, 2010 I always wear my rash guard/reef shirt on the flow rider...I've never even thought of shorts too but I guess I've never had to...knock on wood. :)
ActiveTraveler Posted May 27, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2010 Can somebody tell me what in the world a Flow Rider is and what people do in or on it?
GORDONCHICK Posted May 27, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 27, 2010 Can somebody tell me what in the world a Flow Rider is and what people do in or on it? It's simulated surfing on the newer Royal Caribbean ships. The water moves very fast, or you couldn't surf in it.
mchel210 Posted May 30, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 30, 2010 I think that is why so many like to watch...LOL...I wore my suit with a top over. Once I had my Rash shirt, another time just a t-shirt. I wouldnt try without! The water is very strong. :D
jaw070701 Posted May 30, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 30, 2010 I've been on the flowrider and you must have on a one piece with somesort of Tshirt to cover "the girls." Also, board shorts (tied very very tightly - I've seen guys partially lose bottoms too) with rash shirt would be great. I didn't have them but really thought about buying them before our lesson. Good luck and have fun.

creamandcrimson Posted June 1, 2010 #12 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Thanks for the info! We're going on FOS in December and I hadn't really thought of this. I have an old competition swimsuit that's pretty tight so I'll be sure to bring it for the flowrider!
kitty9 Posted June 1, 2010 #13 Share Posted June 1, 2010 My cousins were on board recently and a woman lost both her top and bikini bottom on the Flo Rider. She had one of those tube-like tops that wound up around her neck, and she "forgot" to double tie the strings on the bottom. I heard there were some pretty big whoops and hollers on that one. Chester & Brewster Posted June 2, 2010 #14 Share Posted June 2, 2010 I LOVED Flowrider on our Freedom OTS cruise 2 weeks ago, but saw many "wardrobe malfunctions" during the week. I wore a rashie over my bikini for boogie boarding, and for stand up surfing I wore a pair of boardies as well. A tight fitting high neck T shirt is the best bet - I saw one girl wearing a V neck T shirt, which once it got wet & baggy was next to useless! Also, a lady with just a vest (I think you'd call it a "tank" in the US) on top of her bikini gave everyone a good flash! Lots of men were wearing rashies too - bear in mind you may be stood out in full sun in a long line waiting for your turn, so keeping covered up is a good idea to avoid getting burnt. Guys, keep that string tied tight on your shorts! There was quite a lot of unattractive bum crack on show too (sorry, TMI!) Ladies, if you intend to go on Flowrider, don't bother spend a whole load of cash on a pedicure before hand - the water literally blasts your toe nail polish right off. Bring some remover pads & a spare bottle of polish too.
Colorado Kat Posted June 5, 2010 #15 Share Posted June 5, 2010 I've heard the Flo-riders were popular, but I thought it was with the "sporty" crowd - not just the spectators!
vowsatsea Posted July 5, 2010 #16 Share Posted July 5, 2010 Thanks for this thread. I hadn't even thought about this. I am very large on top, and I'm sure my ladies would've made an appearance. I'm going to have to look into a rash guard for my cruise.
cb at sea Posted July 5, 2010 #17 Share Posted July 5, 2010 If you're concerned about "flashing", then wear a t-shirt and board shorts.....they won't come off in the force of the water. It's a popular place to "people watch" because of the potential for nudity.
patseacruiser Posted July 6, 2010 #18 Share Posted July 6, 2010 I saw a lot of guys shorts start to go down too so it's not just the women. If the men don't tie their shorts tight you get some crack - and that's no drug.
mavis2222 Posted August 7, 2010 #19 Share Posted August 7, 2010 Hell. I wear speedos. They dont come off either. I also ski and wakeboard behind my boat wearing same.
