lopat08865 Posted May 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2010 On our 2006 9-day Carnival Legend cruise we brought 6 magnums of wine on board to enjoy during dinnner, and were charged the corkage fee for each bottle we brought to the dining room. We often didn't finish that night's newly opened bottle, however, and so the bottle was saved for us and on the table when we arrived for dinner the next night. We're booked for the 6/5 Caribbean Princess' sailing out of Brooklyn, and we'd again like to bring our own magnum size bottles aboard to enjoy during dinner. Does anyone have any knowledge about Princess similarly saving unfinished bottles? Back in 2006 the Cruise Critic Carnival board told us that they do that all the time, you don't even have to ask, and they were spot-on. But we've never cruised Princess before. Plus our Carnival cruise was fixed seating, while this time we're scheduled for Princess' Anytime Dining. Really appreciate any and all replies from thos here with knowledge about this. Shogun Posted May 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Hi There, If you have a bottle of wine and it is not finished waiter will put your cabin number on it and store it for you for the following night. I assume if you bring your own they will do the same. yours Shogun
freddie1974 Posted May 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Yes, Princess do save it for you in both Traditional and Anytime dining rooms.
bad973 Posted May 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Yes, Princess does save your unfinished wine from night to night, just like Carnival. I'm sure there's a way to work it out for MTD...just ask your first waiter or maitre'd. Barbara
BobT172 Posted May 24, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2010 We have done this many times. Waiters have also gotten wine for us when we saved it at other locations, such as the Anytime Dining vs. Crown Grill vs Crooners, etc.
Denny01 Posted May 24, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2010 We ordered a bottle at a lounge and they saved it for us and we were able to have it served in pretty much any venue, including the dining areas. Neat. Didn't think about asking could I take it to our SR...neater! Denny
cruisin36 Posted May 24, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 24, 2010 You will probably have to pay the one time $15 corking fee, but they will save it for you.
Doug R. Posted May 24, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 24, 2010 They retrieved a bottle of wine in the Main Dining Room that we had opened in Sabatini's the night before. Not a problem.
gooch47 Posted May 24, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 24, 2010 We take the unfinished bottles back to our cabin most of the time, but we've had no problems with them being saved for the next night, either.
