peppermintpatty Posted May 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2010 Okay, now that we have had all the alcohol, fans, powerstrips, chicken and salad dressing threads, how about soy milk? I can't have dairy. Do they have this on board or should I bring little self-serve cartons of it (juice box sized)? Then the question becomes, how can I smuggle it on? :D
johnjen Posted May 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2010 I really don't see it being an issue with you bringing soy milk onboard at all. But during my times of cruising, DW and I have never seen any. One thing about soy milk though: I've heard it has very high female hormones and there's a concern it may be a leading cause of a lot of problems for men - and even women as there may be a link to breast cancer. evamom Posted May 25, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2010 I always travel with large box of soy milk, I like it in coffee. Brought box on to Glory 5/9/10 and Spirit 6/09 without problem. The $ coffee place (Cream, I think) makes a drinkable soy latte. Rest of coffee on ship is undrinkable.
anamanxs Posted May 25, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2010 They will get it for you from Room Service or in the MDR, you do not have to bring your own. Just let them know, my grandson's was waiting for him every evening at dinner.

highbridge5 Posted May 25, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 25, 2010 My pregnant sister was very sensitive to all kinds of stuff and could only tolerate lactose-free milk. I called the special services department. They do have soy milk on the ship but not lactose free milk. She had no problem bringing a quart of it and a box of the cereal that she found she could eat on board for our trip.
Traveler353 Posted May 25, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 25, 2010 They had little boxes of soy milk in the buffet last month on the Fantasy. One of my table mates also got it each night in the MDR. So at least on the Fantasy no reason to bring any.
Raven Days Posted May 25, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2010 I have a dairy allergy also and I was given Soy and what I thought was Lactose Free Milk - or that is what I was told it was. It wasnt regular milk ( I would have known) and it wasnt Soy. I can tell the difference in the taste. But another poster stated they dont serve Lactose Free milk...so who knows? peppermintpatty Posted May 25, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted May 25, 2010 I figured it would be easier to get the soy than the lactose free. Also you can get the soy in the those little boxes but not lactose free. I do eat cereal at home but I have no intention of doing that on a cruise :) so I will just stick with the soy. Thanks everyone!
