JerseyshoreBruce Posted May 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2010 Has anyone ever done the Harbor Master Ship with the big waterslide attached? How much money is it and how long does it stay out? How is the Rum Punch onboard? How did you book it? Thanks for any help.
Aplmac Posted May 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2010 The company that operates Harbour Master (and Jolly Roger too, until it went to Trinidad) is Tall Ships. That's who you want to contact. Personally I quite like Harbour Master. Not much to look at from the outside looking in but once aboard, she's a large and stable boat, 3 decks high, 80 ft. LOA Her top deck is great vantage point for photos of all sorts as is this shot, when we stopped for lunch and watersports.. She has the longest floating bar in the Caribbean :) on the main deck where you come on board. There's even a small fourth air-conditioned deck down below with washrooms, pass-out-from-rum-punch Sick Bay, etc. and a freshwater hose to rinse off after snorkelling. It's generally thought to be good value for money -they've been doing coastal cruise in one form or another now for four decades. They know a thing or two. ;) . There's a section of the Bridgetown Port referred to as the Shallow Draught Harbourwhich accommodates smaller, inter-island vessels that bring fruit from Dominica and suchlike -this is where Tall Ships operates from, but it's on the back side of the regular Port where your ship will dock. If you're a young 'un, you can walk it --10 mins. but if you're older and maybe have mobility issues, it's a 2 min. taxi ride away Below you'll see a few pics I took... . Aplmac Posted May 28, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 28, 2010 Thanks aplmac....this looks like a must do thing.....looks beautiful where they pull up to beach...very nice beach! Harbour Master pulls in at any one of several similarly-nice West Coast beachesdepending on sea and other conditions, so you won't necessarily get That Beach. Just so's you know... .
