What time at the terminal?

HELP!

We have never cruised from Southampton and have no idea what to do !

We know that embarkation (is that the right term?) starts at 12.30pm, but are not sure what time we would have to arrive at the terminal (is that the right term???)

We are staying at the newly refurbished Mercure Dolphin Hotel which isn't far from the port. Any suggestions about what time we would have to leave the hotel and if there is anything to do at the 'terminal' before we board the ship.

These may sound like daft questions but we have only been on planes and on OV2 from Crete last year to go by !

Any information appreciated

Thanks

:)

Desks open at noon, there will be hundreds already there....we aim to arrive at noon-12.3o and are onboard usually by 1pm....

That's a quick turn over - looks like we may be able to check out at 11am, get our taxi ride and then join the queue. So much easier than flying !

Is there anything at the terminal to look at? Shops etc?

I'd aim for 1230 - 1300 ish and let the initial rush go through but get there before the coaches!!!! there is usually a long queue from before 12 noon so just give that half an hour to get going and you should be OK. :)
