cruiseluv Posted June 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Just be aware that taxi drivers in Madrid many time are very "creative" with the way they charge for the ride. Make sure they start the meter the minute he starts driving. There is supplemental fee for being picked up at the airport but there is no additional fee for bagagge

Ship's Wake Posted June 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 12, 2010 Your travel time is also dependent on what time of day you are arriving in Madrid. Rush hour times will take longer than 20 minutes. We took a taxi from our hotel at Puerta del Sol to the airport and paid around 35 euros. We noticed bumper to bumper traffic on the highway that goes by the airport going towards the city around 730am.

CruisinGerman Posted June 13, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 13, 2010 Dear friends: Greetings from Madrid. Your taxi fare also depends at what terminal you land. Terminal 4 (the new terminal) is the farthest and tends to add about 8-10 euros to the taxi fare. About 30 euros sounds right to me from the airport to Atocha. Kind regards, Gunther and Uta
