Upgrading Free Bottle of Wine??

When sailing in a suite, there is a bottle of sparkling wine in your cabin upon embarkation.

 

I don't much care for the wine and would like to upgrade it to a bottle of Moet or Veuve Cliquot. Is this allowed if you are willing to pay the price difference?

We were able to trade for a white wine with no extra cost.

You can exchange it for a red or white wine but I'm not sure about paying an upgrade charge. We had red, it was fine and we aren't cheap wine drinkers :)

As did we, along with several bottles of the Sparkling that various members of our group had won at events. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let us trade in four bottles for one really good bottle of something so we ended up having wine with every course at our last dinner and then some port too!

We too don't care for the sparkly because it tastes morelike sparkling vinegar.

 

We have had mixed results from no you can't exchange, yes you can exchange for house white or red (I forget their label but we don't like it either) sometimes we are able to switch it for the zinfandel. If we get stuck with the sparkly or house red/white we end up giving it away to neighbours.

It does kind of look a little fuzzy though. I guess we will have to wait and see what we can work out with them on board.
