Prince William Sound, Portage Glacier

In Anchorage we have one day between the end of our cruise/tour and when our plane leaves. We are looking at some day tours. One option is a city tour of Anchorage and bus trip to Portage Glacier. The other option would be Prince William Sound. Any advice or other suggestions? Thanks

Prince William Sound would be my choice. Go with the longer trips that include Barry Arm and Esther Passage.

Thanks for the input. Looking at our options, it looks like we need to use Major Mairne Tours or 26Glaciers. It appears that 26Glaciers does cover Barry Arm and Esther Passage. I can't tell if Major Marine goes there or not. So at this point it looks like 26Glaciers.

 

Also, travel to Whittier - would the train or bus be better? The bus is less expensive, but the train seems like it might be more comortable and fun. We will have been on a lot of train and bus rides on our cruise/tour (Hal #3) so we will probably be tired of them both by that time!

No, Major Marine goes to Blackstone Bay. You are talking about a short transit- 2 hours on the train, 1 1/4 hours on the bus. They parallel each other- pick one.
