Magic is going to................

Ecstasy had a 4 week dry dock, its in fine shape. I really cant see a 2 year dry dock here ... you might want to retune this one some more.

A short dry dock after 2 years before going to a new port makes more sense than the Ecstasy making a 19 day cruise when it usually just makes 4 or 5 day ones. ;) In 19 days it could go to Barcelona to escort the Magic back here. :D

I could def do 19 days on the Ecstasy! I love that ship! But they would have to open the Mongolian grill 24/7!

Yum!!

Care to share your recipe?

PLLLLEAASE?

Sounds Delish!

I get them from the "El Gato Negro" Mexican restaurant in the French Quarter....they put lots of fresh cilantro leaves, pineapple chunks, and I guess add some pineapple juice to what seems like a regular margarita mix... they are always ...very yummy :p Oh, yeah and Tequila :D

Next time I go I will try to get them to divulge the recipe, then I'll let you know ;)

I am sure that the Conquest will sail out of New Orleans starting September 11, 2011 from the Julia Wharf since the Norwegian Spirit will be sailing out of the Erato St. Wharf that day. I just said I have no proof since the dates aren't posted on the Port of New Orleans web site.

The Conquest will sail from Galveston on September 4, 2011 and go to New Orleans most probably via Aruba.

The Ecstasy will sail from Galveston on September 3, 2011 and go to a port near a dry dock where it will get refurbished before going to New Orleans and sailing out of New Orleans on September 22, 2011. It's last dry dock was September 2009 and Carnival puts the ships in dry dock every 2 to 3 years so it is time for a minor renovation.

The Triumph will sail from New Orleans September 17, 2011 to a port near a dry dock where it will be refurbished before sailing out of Galveston on October 6, 2011. It was last dry docked in October 2008 and is overdue by then.

Does anyone know where Carnival might dry dock these ships? If we knew where they dry docked we could figure out their final itineraries as they left Galveston and New Orleans.

Ok, now you are making me dizzy

they like to dry dock ships in freeport, bahamas... many of the recent dry docks have been done there...

here's ecstasy herself, in september 2009...

And the Ecstasy would be getting out of the dry dock just before Triumph is scheduled to go in it so the scheduling is just right.

We can take bets on this one. How much do you care to wager? Iv been on Ecstasy this year, have you?

this might be one of those little details Randy was talking about. I don't know the details and didnt ask anyone ..just as judge judy says if it doesnt make sense then it is probably not true. Something else is going on ...

Cheers, lets hope. ... Im interested in what a cilantro margarita would taste like. I love cilantro, and love margaritas, but never tried them together.

Just go to Margarita Texas

http://www.margaritatexas.com/recipes and make one margarita with each of their recipes and by the time you get through drinking them, Carnival will have announced their new schedules. :D

If they dry dock them in Mobile they will have to sail to a far-away port first because they can't depart New Orleans or Galveston and end in Mobile without visiting a far-away port such as Aruba.

I was wondering if they had a dry dock near a far-away port in the Southern Caribbean.

If they sail from New Orleans or Galveston EMPTY, I don't think they would have to visit a far-away port. I'm pretty sure that only applies if there are passengers onboard. And if they're going to dry dock, it would make sense for no passengers to be onboard, right?

We can wager a DOD once I know what we are betting on. I say a minor rehab in dry dock.

Are you saying a 19 day cruise?

You say you were on Ecstasy THIS year, but we are talking about a minor refurb about a year and a half from now.

But they aren't going to sail from New Orleans or Galveston empty. They have cruise sailings scheduled for those days. They will sail from those cities to another port and then go to dry dock from there.

They can sail empty anywhere they want to go.

Dry docks are expensive. No use paying for them if you don't need a dry dock. They could also be doing a "wet" dock. Some upgrades can be done tied up to a dock, or for than matter cruising the sea. One costs dock fees, the other costs fuel.

But one thing you aren't considering is that they very possibly could do the last sailings listed for each one, and THEN sail from port empty and go to dry dock. Honestly, I find it very difficult to believe that Ecstasy will do a 19 day sailing. In my opinion, they'll do a 4-5 or maybe 7 day cruise on the last scheduled date, and then go to dry dock for a couple of weeks. Like I said, that's just my opinion, and I'll be the first to admit I could very well be wrong. :D

I have a feeling it's probably like this at Carnival headquarters in Miami too. lol
