Group OBC for tips

Hi-

 

I've read through several threads that talk about using your obc for tips, shore excursions, cash through the slot machines, etc. But most of them seem to be talking about an ES credit or preloaded funcash.

 

If there is a $100 obc from traveling with a group, do the same options still apply? Namely - gratuities. I'm traveling with a group of people who are pretty determined not to spend extra $$ while on board. I know that the obc are the best value for Fun Points, but if a good % of the group isn't going to use it (and can't apply it to tips) we might be better off choosing a lesser value Fun Points amenity.

Any OBC will go toward tips or the casino, even though it says it wouldnt. I think Carnival has to say that legally, but it always goes for anything I spend, no matter what kind of OBC it is.
