Splendor of the Seas-July 16th, 2010

We will be on Splendor departing July 16th and staying at the Hotel Abbazia. Does anyone have a recommendation as to how to get to the port from Piazzale Roma?

we did the May 22 sailing of SOS. Had a great time!

There was no mention of it, but RCI has a shuttle bus at Piazzelle Roma. There is parking for 3 ship buses in the corner of the lot, about 40 ft in front of a signpost that says D2. We stood on the sidewalk under the trees until it came.

The shuttle is available after the cruise also. Again, not marked, but if you follow the exit signs you'll come to the line of passengers waiting, and there will be taxis there as well.

We stayed at the Abbazia in May. On embarkation day, we walked (with luggage of course) to the Ferrovia vaporetto station which is in front of the train station and around the corner from the hotel. It's just a short ride to the next vap. station--Piazzale Roma. From there we took a land taxi to get to the ship. I've read that some people walk from P. Roma to their ships, but I personally would not want to do that with luggage.
